Day 1: Arrival and Kigali City Tour
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred for a guided city tour of Kigali.
The tour includes visits to key cultural and historical landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial, which offers a powerful and moving insight into Rwanda’s history and resilience. You may also visit local craft markets, art galleries, and vibrant neighbourhoods where you can experience the city’s growing creative culture.
After the city tour, you will enjoy lunch before beginning the scenic drive north toward Volcanoes National Park. The journey through Rwanda’s rolling hills and terraced landscapes offers beautiful views of the countryside. Upon arrival, check in to your lodge and relax as you prepare for the gorilla trekking adventure the following day.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers before beginning your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park.
Guided by experienced trackers, you will hike through the dense forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take several hours depending on the location of the gorillas, but once they are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them as they feed, play, and interact within their family group.
Standing just a few meters away from these gentle giants in their natural habitat is a truly powerful wildlife experience. After the trek, you will return to the lodge to relax and reflect on this incredible encounter.
Day 3: Return to Kigali and Departure
After breakfast, you will begin the scenic drive back to Kigali, enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Rwanda’s countryside along the way.
Upon arrival in Kigali, you may have time for lunch or a short visit to local craft shops for souvenirs before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
