Explore our 3 Days Nyungwe National Park Safari which offers excellent chimpanzee trekking, canopy walk, and lush guided nature trails. Chimp treks start early from Uwinka, Cyamudongo or Kitabi, letting you spend up to one hour with one of the park’s – 500 habituated chimps along scenic forest paths. The 160 m canopy walk, about 70 m above the ground, gives treetop views of monkeys, birds and orchids. Trails like Igishigishigi link treks and canopy.

Day 1 – Transfer to Nyungwe National park

Depart Kigali and drive south toward Nyungwe Forest. En route, stop in Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum, showcasing the traditional and colonial palaces of King Mutara III Rudahigwa, the famous Inyambo cows, and guided cultural insights, Lunch: Enjoy lunch in or near Nyanza town along the way.

In the afternoon, continue the journey into the highland rainforest of Nyungwe Forest National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time to check in, relax, and enjoy dinner before overnight stay.

Day 2 – Chimpanzee trekking and canopy way work adventure

Rise early after breakfast and head to the Nyungwe Forest National Park headquarters for a ranger briefing. You will be grouped into teams of up to eight for a guided trek through montane rainforest in search of chimp communities. The trek may last 2–5 hours depending on how far chimps are followed by up to one hour of observing them in their natural habitat

Return to the lodge for lunch then walk the famous 160 m canopy bridge, suspended about 60–70 m above the forest floor offering panoramic views of the treetops and wildlife below, End the afternoon relaxing at your lodge.

Day 3 – Colobacy monkey adventure and drive back to kigali

Begin with an early breakfast and head to Nyungwe’s ranger station for briefing before setting off to track black-and-white colobus monkeys – home to one of Africa’s largest troops (300–400 individuals) in Nyungwe. Once found, enjoy up to one hour observing them in the canopy. Following the trek, return to the lodge to check out, then drive back to Kigali with a mid‑route lunch before drop-off at your hotel or airport.
