Our 3 Days Uganda Fly-in Gorilla Safari is designed for those who have less time and want to trek gorillas in Uganda. It allows you to avoid the long drives from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will spend one and a half hours flying and approximately one and a half hours in road transfers from the airstrip (Kihihi) to Buhoma/ 1 hour from kisoro airstrip to the lodge in Rushaga/nkuringo/mgahinga.
Day 1 – Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park
Your gorilla adventure begins at Entebbe International Airport.
First, you will board a domestic flight to either Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, depending on your lodge location and flight schedule.
Morning flights depart Entebbe for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park at 7:45am while afternoon flights depart Entebbe at 15:30pm. For the southern part of Bwindi NP, there is only one morning flight that departs Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip daily at 7:45am.
This is because of the strong winds in this region. Internal flights to Bwindi NP take up to one and half hours depending on the routing of the day.
Day 2 – Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi
Today is the highlight of your Uganda safari.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. Your ranger guide will explain the trekking rules and safety guidelines.
Then, the real adventure begins!
Enter the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and follow the trails through thick vegetation. The trek can take several hours, depending on where the gorilla family is located.
Finally, the moment you have been waiting for arrives.
Stand just a few metres from a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Watch them feed, play, groom, and interact with one another.
It is a truly magical experience.
After your trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some well-deserved rest. Later, enjoy the peaceful beauty of Bwindi.
Day 3 – Fly back to Entebbe
After breakfast, our guide will transfer you to Kihihi/Kisoro for your internal flight back to Entebbe International Airport. If you have a connecting flight, you can then fly out of Uganda or you may choose to stay some extra days in Uganda to Explore other regions of the country.
