Welcome to this amazing 5-Day Bwindi Double Gorilla Trekking Safari that offers a chance to encounter different gorilla families in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On this safari, you will visit Uganda’s premier gorilla trekking destination, Lake Bunyonyi and have to experience the traditional life of the Batwa communities.
This safari starts from Entebbe International Airport and takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will have your first gorilla trekking experience Nkuringo Gorilla sector and later have your second gorilla trekking experience, take a scenic canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa and visit the traditional Batwa people, who will offer you a chance to learn more about their culture as well as lifestyle. This double gorilla trekking safari allows you to spend more than 2 hours with different gorilla families in different regions.

Details of the 5-day Bwindi Double Trekking Safari
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Upon this day, you will meet and greet our representative, who will be your driver for the next 5 days. Your guide will take you through a briefing of the entire trip, and later embark on an approximately 8-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stopover at the Uganda Equator. Arrive at the Park and check into your lodge. In the evening, you will have a pre-briefing from your guide, who will take you through the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking, as well as the packing list, such as sturdy hiking shoes, backpack, gorilla trekking permits and other requirements. Enjoy a restful dinner and overnight.
Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Experience
Rise early in the morning with a mouthwatering breakfast and gather at the visitor’s information centre in Nkuringo, where you will have a briefing for the first gorilla trekking experience. After the briefing, you will be assigned a specific gorilla family and 2 park rangers to provide security and safety. Embark on the actual gorilla trekking experience that takes you through the lush Impenetrable forests of Bwindi as you search for the mountain gorillas. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour as you observe and capturing stunning shots of these magnificent gorillas. Have an afternoon Batwa community encounter as you learn more about their way of life and behaviours. Later, you will drive back to the starting point, where you will be awarded gorilla trekking certificates. Return to the Lodge and check in for your dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
On this day, you will transfer to the Rushaga sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after your breakfast and gather at the visitor’s information centre, where you will have a briefing for your second gorilla trekking Experience. Just like the first one, you will be assigned a specific gorilla family and park rangers to take you through the entire gorilla trekking experience. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with the gorillas. From this moment, you will make a total of 2 hours from this gorilla trekking experience. Later, in the afternoon, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second deepest lake. Arrive at the lake and catch a boat ride that will connect you to the lodge, where you will spend a night. Enjoy a restful dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Full-day Lake Bunyonyi Experience
Enjoy a mouthwatering breakfast with views of the lake and sunrise, and later embark on a full-day canoe riding experience that takes you to the stunning Islands of the lake with rich cultural histories, such as the Punishment and Kahungye Islands. Later, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Enjoy the rest of the day and later return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 5: Return to Entebbe and Departure
On this day, you will have an early breakfast and check out of the lodge as you prepare to drive back to Entebbe. Meet your guide and embark on an approximate 8-hour drive to Entebbe with a stopover at the Uganda Equator, where you will have your lunch and later proceed to the airport/ your drop-off destination as you conclude this amazing 5-Day Bwindi Double Gorilla Trekking Safari.
