The 5 Days gorilla safari trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park though it’s a short day’s trip, its unhurried safari. This is a driving safari which needs you to drive right from Kampala which is a long journey drive. On this trip will trek gorilla, visit the Batwa community, and explore the Lake Bunyonyi which is second deepest lake in Africa. The trip starts from Kampala/ Entebbe and ends at Kampala or Entebbe international airport.

Trip Details
Day1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Drive from Kampala to Bwindi should start in the early morning hours. This is almost a full day journey driving which is about 9 to 10 hours of driving. There are two en-routes at Kayabwe equator point for photographing and lunch at Mbarara city. Reaching the parks in the evening, then will reach and enter the park through Rushaga.

Day2: Gorilla trekking
Allow the trek to be physical, spending more hours searching for the gorillas. This is possible as trekking time depends on how long the assigned family has traveled. So, you can ask park ranger for this experience, and spend more hours in the forest. Get briefed, be grouped and assigned to an armed park ranger to lead in the trek which starts at 8am. You should be well equipped wearing long pants, jungle boots, carry at least 1 litter of drinking water and rain proof gears. The trek continues for 30 minutes to 6 hours search and find the gorillas, and meeting with them is a mesmerizing moments of the jungle. After you return to the starting point, enjoy your relaxed lunch and take a rest at your lodge.

Day3: Visit Batwas and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Drive to Batwa community for cultural experience of the people who live close the gorillas. The Batwa community was reserved to conserve the almost extinct Batwa due to forced eviction which was intended to protect the mountain gorillas. These indigenous people found at the outskirts of Bwindi forest, and this cultural visit complement on gorilla experience. You can buy some handmade crafts as souvenirs.
After, drive transfer to Lake Bunyonyi an amazing spot to relax off especially after trekking the gorillas with lunch en-route. Check-in at your lodge at Lake Bunyonyi and relax for the rest of the day.

Day4: Explore Lake Bunyonyi
This day explore Lake Bunyonyi with a morning picnic breakfast, enjoy the cool shores and take a late morning boat ride through Lake Bunyonyi. The lake has fascinating islands to visit and explore and the common is the punishment island. Use like 2 to 3 hours on the lake, then return to your lodge for lunch and relax for the rest of the day.

Day5: Transfer back to Kampala
This morning enjoy a relaxed served breakfast, and embark on a drive back to Kampala. Consider lunch en-route at Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara and can use an hour to visit the Museum for tales about the western Uganda culture and traditional. Reach Kampala by late evening hours and your drop off will be either at Entebbe International airport or to your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
