Safari Details

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our representative who shall take you through a briefing for the next 5 Days at Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari. Later embark on a 4 to 5-hour Journey to Akagera National Park in the east of Rwanda.

Akagera National Park is located in the Eastern part of Rwanda and is one of the biggest National Parks in the country. The park is famous for Big Five safaris and a home to wildlife species including Elephants, Zebras, Lions, Buffaloes, Hippos, giraffes and other species.

Arrive at the lodge and check in your accommodation. In the evening you shall enjoy a peaceful relaxation at the lodge as you wait for the next Day’s activities.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Enjoy an early morning breakfast, you shall embark on a 2 to 3 hours morning game drive for amazing wildlife encounters that will offer you a chance to spot a variety of animals such as elephants, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, giraffes and other species as well as bird species such as One-horned rhinoceros, Gaur. Royal Bengal tiger. Wild elephant, Four horned antelope, Pangolin, Golden monitor lizard, Python, White-backed Duck, Thalasseri’s leucocytes, Knob-billed Duck, Sarkidiornis melanotos, Egyptian Goose, Alopochen aegyptiaca and Spur-winged Goose.

In the afternoon, you shall have a thrilling afternoon Boat cruise on Lake Ihema that offers breathtaking views and supports the existence of wildlife such as crocodiles, fish, Hippos, elephants, buffaloes and other animal species and later transfer back to the lodge.

Enjoy your stay with calm views at the lodge overlooking the park, your dinner and night.

 Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Enjoy your breakfast at the lodge, check out and kick start your day with a beautiful sunrise at Volcanoes National Park via Kigali city for Lunch and refreshments and later en route to the park. This journey shall take you about 6 to 7 hours including the stopover and arrive at the park in the late afternoon.

Volcanoes National Park is Located in the northern part of Rwanda and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Volcanoes National Park is popular for habiting the largest ape mountain Gorillas that can only be tracked in Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. Volcanoes National Park is home to about 10 Habituated mountain gorillas as well as the rare golden Monkeys that attract tourists for gorilla and golden monkey trekking safaris.

 Gorilla trekking Safaris have increasingly led to the rapid growth of Rwanda and local communities. Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park creates truly unforgettable memories for travellers on Rwanda Safari.

Upon arrival, you shall be welcome and check in your accommodation and dinner. In the evening your safari guide shall take you through a pre-briefing about what to expect and pack for Gorilla trekking.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and Afternoon Iby’Iwacu Cultural Experience

On this Day, you shall have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and transfer to the Kinigi visitor’s information centre for a briefing about gorilla trekking concerning rules and guidelines by park Rangers.

After the briefing, you shall be grouped into 8 pax who are only allowed to visit a particular gorilla Family and be assigned park guides. Thereafter you shall trek into the lush forests in search of Mountain Gorillas that will offer you a chance to spot other primate species as well as birds.

Upon the mountain Gorillas, you shall be granted 1 full hour of face-to-face encounter with the mountain gorillas as you learn about their behaviours and lifestyle. Later you shall transfer back to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you shall transfer to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural experience that offers an authentic and immersive experience where visitors can interact with local communities, engage in traditional activities, and learn about the culture of Rwanda.

Conclude your day here and head back to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali International Airport and Departure

On your last day of 5 Days Rwanda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari, you shall have an early morning breakfast at the lodge, check out and transfer embark on a 3 to 4-hour journey back to Kigali International Airport as you conclude your 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Safari.
