Details of the 6-day Budget Uganda Safari
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will be picked up by our representative, your guide, for the next 6 days. Your Guide will take you through a briefing of the 6-day Budget Uganda Safari, including the destinations, activities and accommodations. Later, embark on a 7-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping at the Uganda Equator for photo moments and en route to the park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited national park in western Uganda and the second largest National Park in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to over 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species, including elephants, leopards, buffaloes, lions, antelopes, Topi and other animal species, as well as tree-climbing lions in Ishasha that make the park a Medley of wonders.
Arrive at the lodge and enjoy your lunch. In the evening, you shall proceed for an evening game drive to spot some solitary animals such as leopards and other animal species such as elephants, lions and other animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking – Kyambura Gorge and Afternoon Boat Cruise
Rise early in the morning with a mouth-watering breakfast and proceed to Kyambura Gorge for chimpanzee trekking. Arrive at the Visitor’s information centre for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking, and later, you will be assigned a park ranger for your security and safety. You will search for the chimpanzees in their natural habitat as you spot different species of birds and other animals in the park. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will be granted one hour to spend with them chimpanzees as you watch them play and groom themselves. Later, you shall head back to the starting point for your chimpanzee trekking certificates and proceed for lunch at the lodge.
After lunch, you shall embark on a thrilling afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects Lake George to Lake Edward, which is home to a variety of wildlife species and will offer you a chance to spot hippos, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, crocodiles and monitor lizards among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning Game drive and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Have a restful breakfast at the lodge and proceed for an early morning game drive in the park, taking you for about three hours to catch up on some of the missed sightings and later proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Located in Western Uganda and is a UNESCO World Heritage site consisting of and conserving over 400 mountain gorillas that are half the total population of mountain gorillas in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Uganda’s prime gorilla trekking destination, consisting of 4 major gorilla trekking regions, including Ruhija, Rushaga, Buhoma and Nkuringo. Get ready to have an encounter with the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats, which is a thrilling Uganda adventure.
Arrive at the lodge and enjoy a relaxed evening and overnight, including a delicious dinner. Your guide shall take you through a pre-briefing about gorilla trekking, including what to pack, including face masks, sturdy hiking shoes, packed lunch, bottled water, and other requirements.
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, carry your passports and IDs and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking by park rangers detailing the rules and guidelines to follow while observing the gorillas in their natural habitat. Later, you shall begin a guided gorilla trekking experience with an armed ranger for security and safety as you navigate through the thick and lush forests of Bwindi as you search for the mountain gorillas. On finding the gorillas, you will be granted 1 hour to spend with the gorillas as you watch them play and feed themselves. You will have a chance to learn about their ways of life and spend moments with them. Later, descend to the starting point for gorilla trekking certificates.
You will find your guide and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, the third deepest lake in Africa. Stunning Lake Bunyonyi is located in the Kabale district, consisting of over 29 Islands with rich cultural history, such as the Punishment Islands. You will have a scenic canoe ride as you transfer to the lodge, where you shall spend an overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and later embark on a canoe ride as you cruise over the lake to the landing site, where you will find your tour guide for the next destination. You will embark on a thrilling drive to Lake Mburo National Park via Igongo Cultural Center in Mbarara, where you shall have your Lunch. Later, proceed to the park.
Lake Mburo National Park is One of Uganda’s smallest national parks located in Mbarara, renowned for its unique landscape and diverse wildlife species, including the largest population of Zebras, giraffes, hyenas, buffaloes, antelopes and a great birding destination with over 350 bird species. Arrive at the park and drive to the lodge, where you will spend the night. You will have a relaxed evening with breathtaking views and a sunset.
Day 6: Moring game drive and return to Entebbe International Airport
Have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and proceed for a guided morning game drive where you will have a chance to spot animals such as Zebras, giraffes, hyenas, waterbucks, elands, and different species of birds. Later, you will return to Entebbe International Airport for your flight as you conclude the 6-day Budget Uganda Safari.
