Details of the 7-Day Best of Uganda Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Meet and greet our representative, who will be your safari driver/guide for the next 7 days. Your guide will take you through a briefing of the 7-day Best of Uganda Safari, including destinations, accommodation and activities to do on the Uganda Tour.

Later, embark on a scenic journey through Uganda’s vibrant countryside to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for the Rhino Tracking experience. Upon there, you will go through a briefing about rhino tracking and be assigned park rangers who will take you through the experience. Once you find the Rhinos, you will be granted 1 hour of observation as you watch these gentle giants roaming freely in their natural habitats.

Later, proceed on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park with a scenic stopover at the dramatic top of Murchison Falls.  Arrive at the lodge and check in for your dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Nile Boat Cruise

Rise early in the morning with a mouth-watering breakfast and later head to the Paraa part of Murchison which is popular for game drives where you shall enjoy a variety of wildlife and breathtaking views including giraffes, lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, hyenas and other wildlife taking you for about 2 to 3 hours.

Later, after lunch, you shall embark on a thrilling afternoon boat cruise on the tranquil waters of Victoria Nile to the Bottom of Murchison Falls National Park. Along the cruise, you shall have a chance to spot hippos, buffalo, crocodiles basking in the sun, elephants quenching their thirst and the mighty Murchison Falls. Witness the huge volume of the Nile squeezing through a narrow gorge, thus forming Murchison Falls. Return to the lodge for sunset, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the lodge and check out of the Lodge as you transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. Kibale Forest National Park also Known as the primate capital of the world is home to about 1500 Habituated chimpanzee individuals and other primate species which makes it an ideal chimpanzee trekking destination on a Uganda safari. Arrive at the lodge and check in for your lunch and dinner. Enjoy a relaxed evening at the Lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Community Experience

Rise early in the morning and gather at the Kanyanchu Visitor’s Information Centre for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. Later, you shall be divided into groups of 6 and assigned a park ranger and guide who will lead your chimpanzee trekking experience. On finding the chimpanzees, you shall be granted 1 full hour of experience as you take photographs and learn about their ways of life.

Later, you shall have an evening Bigodi Community encounter with the natives, including traditional preparation of local brew, traditional dances and other community activities. After this experience, you shall drive back to the lodge for a relaxed evening and dinner at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a heavy breakfast, you shall check out of the lodge and drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The drive shall take you about 5 hours to access the park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Uganda’s prime gorilla trekking destination, housing almost half of the world’s Mountain gorillas that can be found in three countries of the world, Uganda, Rwanda and Congo.

The presence of Habituated gorilla Families in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park makes it an ideal gorilla trekking destination for gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda. Arrive at the lodge and check in for your accommodation. You shall have your Lunch and dinner at the lodge as you enjoy the lush green and breathtaking views.

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience

Finally, the long-awaited day is here. Have an early morning breakfast and gather at the Visitor’s Information Centre for a briefing about gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you shall be divided into groups of 8 pax and assigned a park ranger to lead the gorilla trekking expedition. Embark on a thrilling search for the mountain gorillas in their natural habitats while spotting other wildlife in the park. Once you find the gorillas, you shall be granted a full hour of experience and later descend back to the starting point for your gorilla trekking certificate.

Later you shall have Lunch and visit the Batwa community for a traditional African experience including traditional dances, arts and crafts and understanding their behaviors and way of life. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Return to Entebbe and Departure

Rise early in the morning with a mouth-watering breakfast, check out and transfer to Entebbe International Park via the Uganda Equator and the lush green vegetation in the countryside. The journey shall take you about 8 hours, including a lunch stopover. Arrive at the airport and check in for your departure as you conclude the 7-day Best of Uganda Safari.
