The 7 days safari to western Uganda is mainly on wildlife and chimpanzee tracking which are the major adventures. This safari brings phenomenal safari experience to destinations of Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Kibale National Park. On this safari to western Uganda expect to do a Boat cruise, game drives, horse riding, visiting Katwe salt lake, track chimpanzees, bird watching and nature walks. This safari trip starts from either Kampala or Entebbe take the designed route and ends at either Kampala or Entebbe International Airport.

Detailed Trip
Day 1: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park
Today upon reaching the Entebbe airport a guide from Entale African Safaris will pick you up, and board to transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with lunch en-route and photography shooting at Kayabwe Equator on Kampala-Masaka Road. Reach the Park by evening hours, check-in at your lodge. Then will take a night game drive which is a perfect idea of sighting prides of lions and leopards actively hunting at night. Expect a lot of sights on a night vision with torches and under the lead of armed park ranger.

Day 2: Explore Lake Mburo National Park
A morning boat ride on Lake Mburo literally starts from Rwonyo jetty and the earliest one starts at 8am. This scenic wild boat ride goes for about 2 hours sailing besides the hippos, crocodiles, and other aquatic life seen, and many mammal animals seen at the shores of the park like buffalos, zebras, waterbuck and many others.
After lunch munchies, consider an evening game drive presenting you to the richest side of the park. An evening game drive offers that scenic sun setting view in the wilderness, an amazing experience. On a game drive expect to sight as many mammals and wildlife after the lunch refreshments will take a horse ride. The game drive through the savannah woodlands benefits by watching and sighting several parks’ rewards among which include; zebras, giraffes, impalas, deer, duikers, baboons, warthogs, hyenas, chance of seeing leopards among others. The game drive can last for about 2 to 3 hours and will drive to your lodge and relax for the next day.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
This morning, engage in horseback riding adventure which is arranged and guided by Mihingo. It’s more less than a game drive and a bit greater than nature walks going through designed riding tracks. The park being free of elephants is more desirable and adorable for facing off with nature.
Then with lunch en-roll on a drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park Uganda’s most famous park and second visited park in Uganda. Driving and reaching the park, it’s about 4 to 5 hours and reaching the park will check-in at your lodge.

Day 4: Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park (Game drive & boat cruise)
Go for an early morning game drive through the Kaseny open savannahs with packed breakfast. By 6am start your drive, as the arrays of the sun rise, will set your breakfast on your car amidst wildlife sightings with hundreds of Uganda Kobs at their mating ground. The game drive connects to the real wild adventure through various trucks leading you to sight herds of antelopes, buffalos, elephants, lions, leopards, warthogs among so many other animals, and countless number of bird species, this park is home to over 600 bird species.
Then lunch refreshments at your lodge, and a boat cruise at Mweya peninsular on Kazinga Channel. This amazing water channel jeweled with stunning golden landscapes, and connects two lakes of Lake Gorge and Lake Edward. A boat cruise exposes great wild sceneries encountering schools of hippos, monitor lizards, crocodiles, water and land bird species. Also larger herds of elephants, buffalos, antelopes are always scene at the banks of the water channel. After about 2 to 3 hours the boat cruise will be done, then return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park
This morning drive through Kasese town to Kibale National Park, but will consider an en-route to Fort Portal for Lunch and a visit to the Amabere caves and explore the amazing stories of the Bachwezi dynasty. Visiting the caves, it’s an atmosphere leading you into a waterfall under caves and walk within the fumes of thundering waterfalls with legendary tales about the culture of the sites.

Day 6: Track Chimpanzees
Consider an early drive to Kanyachu for a morning briefing on the chimpanzee tracking etiquettes. By 8am under the lead of the assigned ranger guide roll into the forest to search for the apes. Chimpanzee tracking can last for about 30 minutes to 3 hours to encounter with the assigned habituated chimpanzee community, and on finding the chimpanzees there is an hour in their presence. It’s a lifetime moment finding yourself before this amazing human like species.
Relax and have lunch refreshments, and in the evening hours go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland. The wetland is located at the edge harboring several primate species about 13 primate species besides chimpanzees. The walk comes along with wildlife watching like bushbabies, duikers, forest elephants, primates like baboons, L’Hoest’s monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, bush babies, mangebays, blue monkeys among others. And also about 400 bird species, butterflies among so many other encounters.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala
Take a morning drive to Bigodi community which is an immediate community about 6km from the park. The special thing with Bigodi, is the initiative of the local people to involve themselves in the chimpanzee conservation at Kibale National Park. This visit enables you have an interaction with the local, and realized how locals directly are involved in the conservation of chimpanzee and how they are benefiting from this sounding initiative.
After, check-out of your lodge, and take a drive back to Kampala via Mubende with lunch en-route. The drive can last for about 7 hours depending on the traffic flow. Reaching Kampala in the late evening hours, drop off at either your hotel/lodge in Kampala/ Entebbe or at Entebbe International Airport for your next flight back home.
