Details of the 8 Days Uganda Classic Safari

Day 1: Pick up and Evening Lake Mburo Boat Cruise

On this day, you will be picked up by your safari guide/driver at your area of pickup area and taken through a simple briefing of the safari. Later, you will embark on an approximate 5-hour drive to Lake Mburo National Park. The park is one of Uganda’s smallest savannah National Parks, located in central western Uganda, and is arguably one of the most beautiful safari destinations, with the largest count of Zebras in Uganda.

Arrive at the park and later proceed for an afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo, which will introduce you to most of the park’s ecosystem as well as a chance to spot wildlife in the park. You will then proceed to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Walking Safari and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Have an early morning breakfast and pick up a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger who will take you through the walking safari experience. You will have a chance to learn about the ecosystem of the park, including plants and animals such as giraffes, zebras, Elands and spot different bird species. The walking safari experience will take you for about 3 hours, and later have your lunch at the lodge.

After lunch, check out of the lodge and embark on an approximately 3-hour journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda’s prime gorilla trekking destination and a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for harbouring over half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive at the park and check in for your dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience

Have an early breakfast at the lodge and gather at the visitor’s briefing point about gorilla trekking, including rules and guidelines to follow when observing the gorillas. You will be assigned a specific gorilla family and a park ranger who will take you through the experience. Begin the trekking experience in search of the mountain gorillas. Once you find them, you will be granted 1 full hour of observation and learning about their lifestyle and behaviours while capturing photo moments.

Have your packed lunch and later proceed for an evening Batwa community Experience that will offer you an insight on their traditional life though traditional dances, games and story telling. Later, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Evening Game Drive

Have a leisurely breakfast at the lodge and later embark on an approximately 5-hour drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of Uganda’s most beautiful national parks, renowned for housing tree-climbing lions and chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge, which makes it a medley of natural wonders. The park is most visited due to its rewarding game drive sightings and stunning landscapes dotted with several craters. Arrive at the park and enjoy your lunch at the lodge.

After lunch, you will proceed for an evening game drive in the park, which introduces you to the wildlife and ecosystems of the park. You will be able to spot several animal species and later return to the lodge for a warm evening and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

After breakfast, embark on a scenic game drive that takes you through the Kasenyi northern sector of the park where you will have a chance to spot a variety of wildlife such as lions, elephants, waterbucks and different bird species for about 3 hours and head back to the lodge for a refreshing lunch.

After lunch, you will have a thrilling afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George to Lake Edward. You will have a chance to spot a variety of animal species such as crocodiles, elephants, buffalo and waterbird species. Return to the lodge for a refreshing dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Have a restful breakfast at the lodge and later embark on a scenic journey to Kibale National Park in Kabarole district with a stopover at the Uganda Equator in Kikorongo. The park is a renowned chimpanzee trekking destination in the world and home for over 1500 chimpanzee individuals which make it a primate capital of the world. Get ready to experience an adventure of a lifetime. Arrive at the lodge and check in for your dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Chimpanzee Trekking and Community Tour

Rise early in the morning with a heavy breakfast, and later proceed to Kanyanchu park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking, including the rules and guidelines to follow while observing the chimps in their natural habitats. Embark on a guided trekking experience in search of the chimpanzees with the help of park Rangers. Once you find the chimps, you will be allowed to spend 1 hour with them as you watch their playful behaviour and learn more about their way of life. Later, you will return to the starting point for chimpanzee trekking certificates and lunch.

After lunch, you will proceed to an evening Community Experience that will offer you insights about the Batooro traditional way of life, including local brew making and traditional dances, thus creating a memorable experience. Return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe and End of Safari

Rise early in the morning with a mouth-watering breakfast, check out and transfer to Entebbe International Park via Fort Portal Tourism City and the lush green vegetation in the countryside. The journey shall take you about 6 hours, including a lunch stopover. Arrive at the airport and check in for your departure as you conclude the 8-day Uganda Classic Safari.
