This 9 Days Uganda Safari & Wildlife Tour is a Uganda safari that allows you to see primates and wildlife in Uganda’s most popular parks. You begin with a Big 5 experience upon your visit to Murchison Falls National Park via the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. You will then head to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking, after which you’ll proceed to Bwindi, allowing you to see the majestic mountain gorillas. A visit to Lake Mburo National Park concludes the tour, after which you’ll head back to Entebbe for your flight out.

Day 1 – Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

You will be picked up by your guide. After greetings, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park. En route, you will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the only place in Uganda where rhinos live in the wild. You’ll proceed with your journey, having lunch en route. You will then enter the park and visit the top of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.

Day 2 – Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls

You will have breakfast early in the morning, and then head out to the savannah plains in search of the early grazers. The game drive will allow you to see animals such as leopards, lions, and hyenas as they search for prey. You will also see other animals such as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, waterbucks, giraffes, bushbucks, antelopes, and many others. You’ll then head back to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

Later, you will head for an afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the most powerful waterfalls in the world. You’ll witness how the River Nile spreads out after forcing itself into an 8-meter gorge. You will see other animals, such as Nile crocodiles, waiting to prey on the weak, and hippos enjoying aquatic life. You’ll then return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 – Transfer to Kibale National Park

You will check out of the lodge and embark on a journey to Kibale National Park. You will have lunch en route, either in Masindi or Hoima, depending on which location is more convenient. You’ll arrive in the late afternoon, where playful baboons will welcome you as you approach the forest. You’ll check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight as you prepare for chimp trekking the day after.

Day 4 – Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

You will have an early breakfast and then head out to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. You’ll undergo a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking rules. You’ll be led by a ranger and guide to the forest in search of a chimpanzee community. After finding them, you’ll spend an hour in their presence and then return to the starting point for a brief period of relaxation.

Later, you’ll head to the Bigodi community for a swamp walk to see more primates and bird species, as well as learning about the role played by local communities in the conservation of tourism’s natural resources.

Day 5 – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will have breakfast and check out of the lodge. You will embark on a 2 to 3-hour journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will check in at the lodge, have lunch, and then embark on a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. You’ll see a variety of animals that come to quench their thirst during the hot hours of the day. You’ll see buffalos, elephants, warthogs, and hippos. You’ll then embark on a game drive, where you’ll see other animals like Uganda kobs, lions, buffalos, warthogs, and many others.

Later, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6 – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector

You will have breakfast and check out of the lodge. You will pass through the Ishasha sector, home to the tree-climbing lions, which is an unusual behavior among these big cats, as well as other animals. Then, you’ll head to the gorilla capital, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You’ll check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7 – Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

You will have an early breakfast and then head out to the park headquarters with your packed lunch. You’ll undergo a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules and regulations. You will be led by a ranger and guide to the forest in search of the designated gorilla family in a group of 8. After finding the gorillas, you’ll spend an hour in their presence and then head back to the starting point. You’ll be rewarded with a gorilla trekking certificate, thanking you for participating in the conservation of gorillas.

Later embark on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 8 – Morning canoe cruise and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on a canoe cruise on Lake Bunyonyi. This second-deepest lake in Africa is dotted with 29 islands, some of them with unique history, which you will learn, while others have animals that you can see. You will then check out of the lodge and head to Lake Mburo National Park. You will embark on a game drive, which will allow you to see a variety of animals like zebras, warthogs, elands, buffalos, elephants, and many others.

Day 9 – Morning game drive and transfer back to Entebbe

On this day, you will have breakfast and head out to the savannahs again, where you may get a chance to see some of the animals that you might have missed the day before. After that, you will embark on a 3.5-hour journey to Entebbe, where you will either head to the hotel or the airport for your flight out. This will mark the end of the ultimate Uganda primates and wildlife tour.
