Day
Arrival in Kigali – Transfer to Akagera National Park
You will meet your private safari guide at Kigali International Airport and head east to Akagera National Park.
Enjoy the beautiful countryside before you reach your lodge. Arrive in time to spend a relaxing afternoon admiring the spectacular wilderness of the park.

Day
Game Drive and Lake Ihema Boat Safari
Start your day with an early morning game drive in Akagera National Park, in search of lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras and other wildlife.
In the afternoon go on a boat safari on Lake Ihema, where hippos, crocodiles and many waterbirds can often be seen.

Day
Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, depart Akagera and drive across Rwanda to the Virunga Mountains.
Enjoy scenic countryside views before arriving at the Volcanoes National Park. Spend the afternoon relaxing at your lodge and getting ready for your gorilla trekking adventure.

Day
Mountain Gorilla Trekking
We will have an early breakfast before transferring to park headquarters for a briefing and then entering the rainforest to track mountain gorillas.
Enjoy a memorable hour observing a habituated gorilla family, then return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day
Return to Kigali – City Tour and Departure
After breakfast return to Kigali. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy a guided city tour, visit local craft markets or visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial.
Transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
